Celebrating the achievement of one of America's greatest composers, this 4,000 square foot, multimedia exhibition includes memorabilia, musical instruments, posters, orignal photographs and musical manuscripts from the Smithsonian's Duke Ellington Collection. It is part of America's Jazz Heritage, a partnership of the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
One of the strangest artifacts in the exhibition is this concert poster, juxtaposing Ellington, the American flag, and a peace sign.
