Beyond the Neighborhood
Resources and other links for Athens and the rest of Georgia
- WUGA -- The Classic 91.7 & 97.9 FM, public radio for the Athens area since 1987. I work there. It doesn't seem possible that almost ten years have passed since we first signed on.
- The Georgia Center for Continuing Education -- WUGA is part of the University's Continuing Education Center, a place that seems always to have several surprising and interesting events going on at the same time. In addition, the Center boasts one of the best places to eat lunch in Athens and pretty good coffee, making it an ideal location for a radio station.
- The University of Georgia -- The Georgia Center is, in turn, part of UGA. The University offers a stunning array of resources to the community, the state, and beyond. It's all just a few blocks away by foot, or as near as the keyboard via the Web.
- The State of Georgia home page.
- GeorgiaInfo Home Page -- from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at UGA.
- Georgia Web Guide
- Georgia Supersites -- A huge collection of links for the state, but emphasizing middle Georgia.
- Flagpole's list of Athens links and UGA's local links
- The Flagpole Guide to Athens
- Georgia Fact Sheet -- reprint of an encyclopedia article on the state.
